im making a compact skin, for 1024x600 monitor, but i want to build most of the functions into selectable panels...

my question is, can i have the browser in a pannel? if i have the browser in a panel that takes most of the window, i could have video on panel 2, mixer on 3, etc

ive put something together so far, but when i click back to the browser panel, it dosent show the browser.


can anyone hep me?

When the browser is in a pannel, you will need to click twice to show the browser back again.

I just noticed this when using this exact 'browser in a pannel feature'. Is there any logic behind this 2x click behaviour ?

Currently I have a 2 deck player + browser in pannel id1 and a browser only in pannel id2 . Togeling between the two pannels always yields me a empty browser which must be double clicked.

When I actually define a browser element in both panels none seem to work properly. Is there a limit to the browser elements one can use in a skin ?

only one browser can be specifyed in the skin file.

Don't try to put the browser in a pannel. You can't get it to work properly.
It's time somebody fix this prob..

it does work, you just have to click in the browser area to refresh it..

The browser will appear even when another pannel is active.

there is a work around for this.

you need to turn the pannel off that contains the browser, when you click on another pannel that wses the same space.
though this is not ideal, IMO.

heres a question/suggestion:

with the new skin engine could you not write the code similar to this??

The browser pannel need to be changed in many ways, that's for sure.
First of all as we have allready asked from the DevTeam the browser pannel action should be allowed to be used more than once in an xml file. Further more i will propose for the next updates to be able to resize, or even reconstruct the browser, resize the scroll bar (usefull for touchscreen users), add a horizontal scroll bar, change colours to them etc...
All these have quite a few times reported as requests in the Vip Forum. I hope that a day will come that VirtualDJ will trully reveal its great possibilities. Until then we can enjoy a great piece of software.

Just to be honnest with you guys, maybe the reason all these have not yet been done, is that VirtualDJ wants to keep its identity and try to avoid similarities with other softwares. But i think that DevTeam will find a way to deal with it.
