You have to adjust the settings in the config, i am not sure if it works on a no licensed version of vdj. Check out the purchase section they have different price ranges so everyone can afford to purchase some type of license.

So if you have a HC 4500 and a X500 Mixer and use the xcontrol cable between the 2 the cross fader on the X500 will control the VDJ Cross fader?

To video crossfade using the Denon X500 or X900 mixer, you need to connect the cable between the HC4500 and the mixer and then enable it on the HC4500:

• Connect the X-control cable between the mixer and DN-HC4500 (This needs to be a normal stereo 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable.)
• Hold down the MEMO button on the the HC4500 to enter its built-in preset mode.
• Turn the parameter knob to choose X-CONT XFD
• Press the parameter knob to edit.
• Turn the parameter knob to change it to On.
• Press the parameter knob to save.
• Press MEMO to exit HC4500 preset mode.

This maybe a dumb question so...

Would the "fader start" on a PIONEER DJM-3000 work plugged into the DENON DN-HC4500 & work like the DENON mixer setup?

Just wondering,

Dj Tao that question pertains to my setup as well and I am happy you brought up the question. I don't think I would use it but still it's good to know. Anyone able to chime in with a response?
