Topic: VDJ LE & Versadeck

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi all. I recently acquired a American Audio Versdeck with VDJ LE.
I am completely unknown to mixing and my only goal is to this as a hobby (bedroom DJ) and improve. Practice and enjoy!

I am only using MP3's at this stage and would like to know if there is any benefit for me to use VDJ LE at this stage? Haven't even installed it yet.

Looking forward to your replies.

Cheers

You have to use the LE version or you could not use your controller.
Controller are supported either by their specific LE version or Virtual DJ Pro Full version.

SOrry, I should have phrased better, if I use it as a stand alone with USB only, the software cant help?

Ok, now i get it *lol*

Yes you are right.
If you use the versadeck standalone the software won't give you any benefits.
(If it's even possible to use USB and VDJ LE together)

One advantage of using the software is that browsing your music library is much easier.

You can see many more songs listed at one time. You can search easily. You can create folders on the left side of the VDJ screen to organise your music and group certain things together.

For just playing tracks and mixing, when you don't have thousands of tracks, using the Versadeck on its own is OK. When you have many tracks, and you need to organise, search and find a "needle in a haystack" then using VDJ is better.

I just read the manual. Even there it doesn't say if you could use USB and software together.
I guess you have to try it.
If its possible the only advantage i could think of is a bigger and easier to handle database and search option.

I have an extensive library, but for now I am only using about 40 tracks to start and get beat matching and the basics right. 1 thing about the Versadeck while using only USB that is frustrating is when using jogwheel to search, the track just speeds up and I am finding this makes it difficult to learn.
What I will have to do is either use the software, cause apparently then there aren't any issues or invest in better hardware, but as I am only ever gonna play in my own house I am not sure what will be the next best hardware to buy - any recommendations?
