Topic: Assigning Keys (kill Low)

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi all!

I want to assign some keys on the keyboard to open low to 50% and kill low to 0%.
When I do this like I think it should be done, nothing happens when I press on the assigned button.

In the picture I have my settings for the button Q, to kill low to 0%.

However, when I/m mixing and press the Q button, nothing happens at all.
Al the presets like P (Play) and so on work correctly.

I think I'm missing something...

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong por favor?

that one works, I tried yours and it worked too.

deck 1 eq_low -100 (set the bass equalizer) Works now!
deck 2 eq_low -100 (set the bass equalizer) Works now!

When I make it deck 1 eq_low -75 (set the bass equalizer) it doesn't work.
When I make it deck 2 eq_low 50 (set the bass equalizer) it doesn't work.

(Don't mind the deck 1 or 2 setting)

Is the setting "set the bass equalizer" not the right one?

deck 1 eq_low -50%
deck 2 eq_low -50%

The % is missing

Also

deck 1 eq_kill_low
deck 2 eq_kill_low

is better at killing bass

as pressing it a second time brings the bass back (also works for mid and high)

Oh I didn't spot you wanted it to effectively reset the bass, just take off the + or -

So

deck 1 eq_low 50%

or you can use

deck 1 eq_low 0.5

Since it's Christmas, copy and paste this into your xml file

<map value="YOUR KEY 1" action="deck 1 eq_kill_low ? deck 1 eq_kill_low &amp; deck 1 eq_low 50% : deck 1 eq_kill_low &amp; deck 1 eq_low 0%" />
<map value="YOUR KEY 2" action="deck 1 eq_kill_low ? deck 1 eq_kill_low &amp; deck 1 eq_low +3.3% : deck 1 eq_low +3.3%" />

The first one checks if the bass has been killed already (off) ? if it has it turns the bass back on & it sets the dial back to the centre : if it hasn't (already been killed) it kills the bass & sets the bass dial to as low as it gets.

The second one checks if the bass has been killed already (off) ? if it has it turns the bass back on and turns the dial up 3.3% : if it hasn't (already been killed) it just turns the dial up 3.3%

So "YOUR KEY 1" Kills the bass, but pressing it quickly twice resets the bass
and "YOUR KEY2" just turns up the bass.

I am assigning the following to the custom buttons in the latest Mac version with the following results:

eq_kill_low - not wokring
eq_kill_mid - working
eq_kill_high - not working fully, it seems to have some effect

Any ideas on what I may be missing?

They do work - I've just tested all three
You shouldn't be in doubt when you test it, because they light up the label in red, as seen below:

A guess: Do you maybe have a space or a new-line character in the end of your script?
That often happens when doing copy-paste, and it messes things up

You do need to be using the right EQ mode in order for kills to work.

See this page of the manual, under 2. EQ

Oh yes, this may be it.
I thought he meant the kills weren't triggered
