Topic: hang/crash on backspace/clearing in search bar

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

not just with current build but with previous as well. had only happened once with 3573 but has also happened with interim builds and tried to do it once tonight with current public build.
enter text in search box, loading a song or not has no effect but put cursor in search bar to highlight text and press backspace and it can hang or crash. doesn't always completely crash - sometimes recovers on it's own after a momentary hang - but twice i've had to hit play on backup pc

win7, I7 3.4gz, 8gb RAM, 4gb nvidea graphics card
plugins running - TellyVisuals, TellyMedia, LaserBeat, and one video sample showing animated club logo
only other programs open are one notepad and Quickshow 3.0 (build 555)

maybe it something with the plugins your running.

Have it crash while online so the TEAM will receive the crash report.

have already thought of that and enabled crash reporting to next level in options and did the unthinkable (for us) and physically plugged in network cable to modem (it's almost never plugged in except to download and update 8.2) we did have it happen again on Saturday night but don't know if it reported it.
thing is that it's been running perfectly with all the plugins and everything else that's been running for as long as we've had 8.2 installed. this is only a recent thing. starting to suspect that it's the computer itself tho. will have to wait till I get more info

We havent recently received any crash report from you, so i assume that you got a Windows crash (freeze) and not a software one. What if you leave your computer idle for a minute, instead of trying buttons/mouse to recover, does it come back ?

on other occasions recently where it's frozen for a second or two it comes back, but much longer than that and it's completely unresponsive and goes white screen with the "do you want to close or wait" message box coming up. we just don't have time for that usually and get the back up music playing as quickly as we can. the couple of times I've waited any amount of time longer it hasn't come back and windows event viewer states that virtualdj has crashed.
won't be back to club til tomorrow evening and will be able to dig into it further then if need be.

Do you have the column "Filedate" in the browser?

geposted Fri 21 Apr 17 @ 6:03 pm
not file date - we have (as far as I can remember on no caffeine in me yet and the screen not in front of me) these browser fields:
Title, Artist, Remix, Bpm, Bitrate, First Seen, Length, Comment

also I've noticed another odd behavior - the browser space being incompletely "drawn" I suppose that's word? I tried on Wednesday night after we closed to make it crash and couldn't - i was typing in random words to search and then clicking in search bar to highlight then tapping spacebar to clear and one thing i noticed a couple of times was the search results being incompletely filled after clearing search bar and then when mousing over the space the browser fields filling in - i'm going to try to remember to set a camera up to see if i can get it to happen on video and show what it's doing but will have to be before we open or after club closes to try anything like that.

(video uploading, while $pace inten$ive, might help with some of the explanations of what the less technically jargon fluent are trying to say - the pics we can upload say a thousand words but sometimes video says the words in detail)
