Hi VirtualDJ team,
I’m a VirtualDJ Pro user and really enjoy the platform. I use VirtualDJ with a DDJ-FLX2, and most of my music discovery and DJ library comes through TIDAL and Beatport Streaming.
The one part of my workflow that is becoming difficult to manage is manual track preparation.
I would love VirtualDJ to automatically analyze a streaming track and create useful Hot Cues/POIs based on its musical structure. For house music, for example:
1 — Mix In
2 — Build
3 — Drop 1
4 — Breakdown
5 — Build 2
6 — Drop 2
7 — Mix Out
8 — End
The exact names or positions aren't important. The important feature would be automatic intelligent cue placement based on phrase/song structure, rather than manually placing 6–8 cues on every track.
VirtualDJ already does an impressive job detecting Remix Points, beats, phrases and song structure, so I'm wondering whether this analysis could automatically generate permanent Hot Cues/POIs.
Ideally this would work with TIDAL and Beatport Streaming tracks, because third-party analysis programs generally cannot access the protected streaming audio. VirtualDJ already has access to and analyzes those tracks.
Even better would be the ability to create a cue template — for example, tell VirtualDJ how I like my cues positioned/named/coloured and have it automatically apply that logic to newly analyzed tracks.
For DJs with large streaming libraries, this could eliminate hours of repetitive preparation while still letting us adjust any cues that aren't perfect.
I would strongly prefer to keep using VirtualDJ rather than change platforms simply to reduce track-preparation workload.
Is anything like this currently possible using VirtualDJ's existing POI/Remix Point system? If not, I would really love to see this considered as a future feature.
