Ok guys, my bday is coming up, and im looking into getting some turntables along with some timecoded vinyls. What i want to know is if i can just use the following:
-Appropriate software (i know i probably have to upgrade) -Hercules MK2 -Standard turntables -Timecoded vinyl What i want to know is will that work. Or do i need to buy one of those redicously overpriced usb interfaces, like this one http://www.numark.com/virtualvinyl The box is what im talking about. I have read from several sites that a MK2 can be used with timecoded vinyls, but im not sure if that means without the box. Please let me know ASAP, i really would like to know |

You could use Mk2 as ur soundcard for timecodes.. N of course u need VDJ Pro too as DJC edition will only permit u 5 mins of usage n limited in the function.
http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html U could upgrade with a discount. http://www.virtualdj.com/purchase/discount.html Make sure u buy a direct drive turntable not belt ones. Abt the NVV, yes u could use that too n it is better than the mk2...but to ur initial question.. yes u can just use the mk2;) |

Ok that helps a lot, because i was just about to ask whether i needed belt or direct. Do i have to use direct, or is it just recomended? Also, if i have this setup, do i still plug in my amp/speakers into the same audio out on my Hercules MK2? |

Just somthing to bare in mind , the mk2 is a entry level interface and may strugle with heavy stratching what you are paying for with the VV box is a high quality interface with a high quality result each time. Aslo ease of configuraration. It also costs more because it includes the full version of cue (VDJ PRO).
You will want direct drive turntables and good cartridges such as the Ortofon Concorde Digitracks. |

Please 911 on how to connect these things. My gear are: Dell XPS 2 Technics Rane TTM 56 Hercules RMX 2 Timecodes VDJ Pro I'm not getting any good sound. Just a high pitched noise, which is prolly the time code signal. I'm such a newbie so I apologize. I kinda wanna use my Rane if I could instead of the RMX as my main mixer.... Thanks for the assistance, guys! |

It will work, but slow drivers on the MK2 controller, will prevent scratching sounds to sound real good |
|
hi there can i use my hercules mk2 as an interface for time code cds? |
|
With VDJ Pro, yes. Not sure about the LE version. |
