The objective here was to lighten up and add space with current technology.
This box was originally set up with my laptop 3 years ago, and managed to build it all in with minimal weight and height.

Homemade short shelf that allows storage without a full length shelf that fits around the cpu, ($7.00 not $70.00).
The CPU is a Shuttle barebones SN 25P
It has 2000gigs of storage on 4 500 SATA Seagate drives.
Other than the video card, it\'s a pretty basic system.
The sound card is a U46DJ by ESI, that is the best suited card i\'ve seen with mic, phones and
This has since been updated with an M Audio Fast Track Pro which forfeits the inputs as I don\'t currently scratch anyway.
This card also offers a second mic input which can be used singly or as a mic mixer input.
The phone jack is also supported with a mixer knob for pre listening or cueing.
Another feature is the 1/4\" TRS balanced outputs on the back and the available gain for the phones as well as outputs. I give this card a 10 out of 10.
The monitor is a wide screen 15.5\" that supports higher resolutions.
The mount for the monitor was used to mount to the shelf.
Added some 1/4\" jacks to the side of the case to ease the card connections.

The drive mounting is critical due to heat, I have converted the floppy and dvd bracket with a 4 drive cluster spacing them apart.
I use a dvd rw in a seperate external enclosure for ripping etc...
Never use it enough to justify carrying it around everywhere I go.
I have also added a 64cfm electic fan with ducts at the other end.
The floppy doors and dvd door have been removed for better airflow around drives.

This is the current set up with bigger monitor, Fast Track Pro and VGA DA/Splitter.
Upgraded the drives to 1tb and the PS to 450w.
Had a DAC 3 and upgraded to a DN 4500 which I love.
Other than that, its the original build from June 2006.
