SETUP

Step 1. Connections

Connect the Behringer CMD-DV1 with your computer using the provided USB cable.

Step 2. Drivers

No drivers are required to be installed. The Behringer CMD-DV1 is a USB Class Compliant device and your Operating system will automatically install the necessary drivers when the unit is connected to your computer.

Step 3. VirtualDJ

Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)
Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials.

A Pro Infinity, Pro Subscription or Plus CMD-DV1 Controller License is required. http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ, verifying proper connection

AUDIO Setup

The unit is not offering any built-in audio interface and VirtualDJ will use your computer’s built-in sound card by default (if not any other is chosen).

ACTION

1 BUTS 1-8

Buttons 1-8 offer different functionality depending on the selected mode
In Slicer mode : The 8 numbered buttons repeat a Slice of the 8-beat pattern
In Hotcues mode (default) : Assign a Hotcue 1 to 8 at the current position or jump to the Hotcue point if assigned
In Hotcues store mode: Assign a Hotcue 1 to 8 at the current track's position.
In Hotcues Delete mode : Delete the assigned Hotcue point

2 BUT MODES

SLICER : Sets Buttons 1-8 to Slicer mode
ERASE : Sets Buttons 1-8 to Hotcues Delete mode
STORE : Sets Buttons 1-8 to Hotcues Store mode
When all SLCER, ERASE and STORE buttons are off, the Buttons 1-8 are in default Hotcues mode

PHRASE : When enabled, the LOOP buttons offer different Auto-Loop sizes

3 LOOPS

Trigger Auto Loops from 1/16 to 1/2 beats
When PHRASE is pressed, buttons trigger Auto-Loops of 1, 4, 8 and 16 beats

4 FOCUS

Sets A,B,C,D buttons to Assign Deck mode

5 MASTER

Sets A,B,C,D buttons to Master mode

6 DOUBLE

Sets A,B,C,D buttons to Default mode

7 A,B,C,D

In Default mode :
A : Resets Filter to zero
B : Sets track's Key to the original value (reset)
C : Enable/disable Loop
D : Enable/disable Loop
In Deck Assign mode : Buttons assign unit to Decks 1,2,3 or 4

8 LOW KNOB1

Applies a High/Low Pass filter to the assigned deck

9 LOW KNOB2

Adjusts the Key of the track loaded to the assigned deck

10 LOW KNOB3

Halves/doubles the size of the loop of the assigned deck

11 LOW KNOB4

When Loop is enabled, moves the loop backwards/forward in time on the assigned deck

FX UNITs

Both Top and Bottom FX Units offer exactly the same functionality, providing the ability to select which FX Slot each unit will control

12 ON/SEL

Enables/disables the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot on the assigned deck

13 ON/1

Enables/disables the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot on the assigned deck

14 ON/2

Enables/disables the selected Effect of the 3rd FX Slot on the assigned deck

15 ON/3

Triggers the selected Video Transition

16 KNOB 1

FX1 enabled : Selects the Effect for the 1st FX Slot
FX2 enabled : Selects the Effect for the 2nd FX Slot
FX3 enabled : Selects the Effect for the 3rd FX Slot
FX4 enabled : Bottom FX unit -Selects the Video Transition
FX4 enabled : Top FX unit -Selects the Master Video Effect

FX1 enabled : Adjusts the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot
When FX1 is pressed, adjusts the 4th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot

FX2 enabled : Adjusts the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot
When FX2 is pressed, adjusts the 4th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot

FX3 enabled : Adjusts the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect of the 3rd FX Slot
When FX3 is pressed, adjusts the 4th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 3rd FX Slot

FX4 enabled : Bottom FX unit - Adjusts the 1st Parameter of the selected Video Transition
When FX4 is pressed, adjusts the 4th Parameter of the selected Video Transition
FX4 enabled : Top FX unit - Adjusts the 1st Parameter of the selected Master Video Effect
When FX4 is pressed, adjusts the 4th Parameter of the selected Master Video Effect

18 KNOB 3

FX1 enabled : Adjusts the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot
When FX1 is pressed, adjusts the 5th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot

FX2 enabled : Adjusts the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot
When FX2 is pressed, adjusts the 5th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot

FX3 enabled : Adjusts the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect of the 3rd FX Slot
When FX3 is pressed, adjusts the 5th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 3rd FX Slot

FX4 enabled : Bottom FX unit - Adjusts the 2nd Parameter of the selected Video Transition
When FX4 is pressed, adjusts the 5th Parameter of the selected Video Transition

19 KNOB 4

FX1 enabled : Adjusts the 3rd Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot
When FX1 is pressed, adjusts the 6th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 1st FX Slot

FX2 enabled : Adjusts the 3rd Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot
When FX2 is pressed, adjusts the 6th Parameter of the selected Effect of the 2nd FX Slot

20 FX1

Assigns Top or Bottom FX unit to control the 1st FX slot

21 FX2

Assigns Top or Bottom FX unit to control the 2nd FX slot

22 FX3

Assigns Top or Bottom FX unit to control the 3rd FX slot

23 FX4

Assigns Bottom/Top FX unit to control the Video Transition and Master Video Effect respectively
