I'm a beginner in the DJ scene, and I've narrowed down my choices to 2 mixers.
They are:
Hercules DJ Control
and
Numark Total Control.
Since they're the same price(and I have a tight budget), which do you recommend?
For the experienced DJ's, if you MUST choice between the two, which one is better overall?
The links to each are shown below.
Thanks,
Danny Boy

Buy something with a soundcard. Hercules MK4 is one of the least expensive . If you'll buy it brand new from the store, you'll have a free VDJ LE version software. Plus you could use it with timecodes if you'll upgrade in the future.

Both of the controllers you've mentioned will require a separate sound card which will probably add another $100 onto your purchase price for a cheap one. You can buy the total control as a package with a decent sound card and headphones http://www.numark.com/totaldjbox
I started into the digital controller world with the total control and enjoyed it very much. It mapped to VDJ flawlessly and was a joy to use for a budget controller. I have upgraded a few times since and will probably upgrade again to something else soon. There are alot of new toys out there to choose from.
You can't go wrong with the total control in my eyes. I have no experience with the Hercules controllers to give you my opinion.

Try the Hercules RMX! I understand you have a tight budget, but you'd be doing yourself a favor by saving up and getting this console! I been in the industry over a quarter century where I used nothing but Turntables mostly and since I converted to the RMX, I can tell you that it is easy for anybody from newbie to pro to learn how to use in no time! Over time you can upgrade, but get your feet wet with a reliable piece of equipment, because I go hours on end with this product.
If this is the product for you and you wind up getting it, don't be afraid to hit me up for links that will help keep you happy with this product.
Happy Mixing,
