Another day, another Pioneer controller.

I bet the access to the screens will be tied to their software of choice though!

One article states this:

Additionally, the unit does have the ability to turn into a full-fledged Traktor controller – we asked Pioneer about it and yes, the waveforms and browser will show up on the screen just like on CDJ-2000Ns, and yes there likely will be advanced HID support on the platters (we are waiting on an official response).

When they say HID support what class HID device is it? And what resolution for the IRQ (Hz) and what bit encoders are the jogs (standard 2 bit or something else)

Never been a big fan of all in ones myself. Like a TV/Blue Ray combination. One thing breaks, your stuck with the other and, no way to use it.

For that price, NO THANKS!!

The price for these controllers is frickin crazy anymore!!

Why didn't they just do this with the SZ and call it good, now that I would of bought........

I do like the fact they are moving away from laptops though.

I don't, closed proprietary systems aren't my idea of the future.

I don't think it'll be to much longer before Pioneer releases they're own software, Kinda like Native Instruments did/doing.

They're half way there now.

No, i doubt they will go that way. The unit is simply saying bye-bye CDs

But it isn't (just) a controller! It's a complete stand alone playback system.

....and that is just a controller. Without a computer running DJ software, the decks, pads and all those knobs do nothing. Mixer yes - decks no.

I'd rather have something £450 cheaper that doesn't rely on a computer to work. :-)

Man your a smart guy but fail to see the big picture here and what I meant.

If they would have put these internals into the SZ you wouldn't need a laptop now would you??

As for the price, this thing is as much as the SZ and you need a computer for that!! How do you justify that cost then???

Controller prices are out of hand!! I mean hell these companies aren't even giving you dedicated buttons anymore, everything is layered!! That's crap in my book!!

Comparing this to the Pioneer DDJSZ is like comparing a Mercedes C Class to an AMG SL.. 2 channel vs. 4, "SX" sized jogwheels vs CDJ sized jogs, many more effects and pads.... I could go on but I made my point. I agree, they are crazy expensive now though and getting obsolete as fast as computers..

Ok fellas for the last time, Im NOT comparing this to the SZ.

I said "They should of made the SZ just like this............"

"Should've" would be grammatically acceptable as well.

Will this work without Rekordbox ??

I am mobile dj with 70s 80s 90s etc! i understand this works great for club djs THAT do playlists not requests.

Would i just scan the external hard via this Rekordbox (never used OBV because am on a virtual dj fourm lol)

or can i just get 2 usb sticks transfer over songs.

seems fair price is doesn't crash! does it have qwerty input screen?

Yes it does work with record box

Bit of a frankenstein isn't it, looks like a bit of a bodge.
