Topic: STEMS on MacBook Pro M1 Pro - Doesnt work.. - Page: 1
Not sure why but M1 Pro should work just like M1 processor. As soon I open the application it gives me a "Stem Engine Error"

Please help.

Thank you,

You ll need Mac OS 13 (Ventura) for realtime Stems 2.0

Fixed it by formatting and data restore

Seems like alot of effort to get it to work, but that did the job! Thank you!

Same issue with my wife's M1 imac. Completely fresh install of VDJ and stems taking forever.

It does have macOS 13?

Good point, never thought of checking that. I don't think she's done anything with it apart from her business stuff so that probably is the issue :)

Yes Keith, Ventura on a Mac M1 is a must for Stems 2.0.

Ventura is currently version 13.1.

All sorted now, original M1 imac creating stems for a 3 minute track in just under 15 seconds.

Think I'm going to wait to see what Macs come out in the spring, they're due for a refresh soon and I'm not in a hurry to upgrade.

My home machine is a 16" Intel (running Windows) but it's huge so I think the 14" hits the spot.

No other solutions? I dont't want to format... I have just done a migration from macbook air M1 where Virtual Dj works well... I'm using:
VirtualDJ 2023 b7388 on Ventura 13.1
The options about Stems are the same

Try renaming your settings.xml file (to find it go to settings> options and click the cog in the bottom corner) to see if VDJ creating a new one will fix the problem. If not you can just change it back.

Keith, Are you actually considering coming over to the dark side????

Potentially, but only for a DJ machine. All I would be running on it is VDJ and showXpress.

Have tried a couple of expensive Windows machines lately and I'm not impressed. Fundamental issues being the mess between dedicated and on-chip graphics and very poor battery life. The Apple M series chips sort that completely.

As for the mobile RTX cards I feel there's far more hype than substance.
