Topic: Hope this helps if you use MP3Tag in the VDJ workflow
I only used filenames for DJing before VDJ 5 but now am using tags heavily, I "hijacked" many tags for my own use...

The MP3Tag software has many benefits like "filename to tags", "combine tags", find & replace text in tags, etc...

I have successfully mapped all VDJ compatible tags in MP3Tag software (so I can combine tags before importing into VDJ). Some mappings are not straight forward, for example: "Remix" in VDJ is "subtitle", "Remixer" is "mixartist" and "Label" is "publisher" in MP3Tag, etc...

Hope this helps

I've been there, done that. I used MP3Tag and Tagscanner. Tagscanner been my favorite but I stop using it because is windows only. Now I just use VDJ Tag Editor.

You my friend have done an excellent job, and because you never know what can happen in the future, I will save copy of your hard work just In case one day I want to go back to MP3Tag.

Thanks for sharing.

This is excellent. If only there was a way to like or favourite forum posts for saving useful information to browse later!

I had no idea %subtitle% was a field at all.

But doesn't VDJ try to guess those first three fields based on the file's name? I usually have remix names or something else I need to know in brackets or parentheses at the end of the filename and VDJ often (not always, strangely enough) tries to put that info into "Remix". It can lead to weird parsing in my video skin text, also.

But, in general, thanks for this awesome tip!
