Topic: Pro Sound Cards for use with VDJ

What are the professional sound cards recommend by the VDJ Team for use with 2x2 outputs and to mix on an external mixer ? I want to use only one pro sound card splitted into two outputs. I need the same audio quality in both outputs.

I was told that it is not possible to use two identical sound cards like for example two Sound Blaster Live 5.1. I was told that I should use two different brands. Is this true ? Should I go to a M-Audio Delta 44 for example ? Would VDJ Team recommend another option ? Thanks .DJ Elvert ( Brazil)

We definitely recomend using one soundcard with two outputs rather than two soundcards.

I think the Sound Blaster Live 4.0 is the best price for that quality. But any 4.0 capable soundcard will do.

Thank you Coco and the staff team for your reply.

I want to control VDJ desk 1 from my Pioneer mixer channel 1 and VDJ desk 2 from my Pioneer mixer channel 2.

Is this possible using only one Sound Blaster Live 5.1?

Any SB live card will do. They're great ... sound much better than any ordinary generic sound card.

If you wanna go a little higher-end .... turtle beach ones are supposedly one of the best.

HI Staff Internal Team,

Thanks for your help !

You recommended one sound card with two outputs. I tried my SB Live 5.1 this way, and everything is ok now.

Questions

In what situation should 2 sound cards be used ?

Do you think M-Audio Delta 44 is a better choise than SB Live 5.1 ?

Thanks again.

Using one soundcard is always better.
Same sound quality, same volume, no need to adjust
gains to match the outputs, plus you dont have some
sync problems sometimes happen with 2 cards.
As for the M-Audio 44 if you have the money...
go with it.
The soundblaster lines are consumer quality soundcards,
while M-audio makes pro quality audiocards.
And i mean the quality of their DAC's
(because VDJ is so flexible and works with both)
I have a Hoontech DSP24 (they are like the M-audio)
along with a sblive and the difference in sound quality is obvious.
But i suggest you to take a look to the Audiotrak
cards especially if you want a usb solution.
They are very good for the money.
(I have Maya Ex 5.1)
