"No but while I was there, I asked about a problem I have had for the last two years and posted numerous times about and has not been rectified. I asked if there was anywhere in the uk I could get assistance, even that was too much for the guys on the stand to comprehend."

Actually Atomix has UK teamer but we don't know why he wasn't there.

We have good people on the ground there right now and I'm sure they don't really appreciate the tone of this topic at all especially from those that were not there in person. Its a tremendous amount of work and stress to do these shows my hats off to the guys there who have taken time out of their personal life to represent Virtualdj at this years BPM show.

I was loitering round the stand for a bit today and they definitely had 7 in public use. As has already been said dj-in-norway and jeremk spoke excellent English and I didn't have any problem talking to moramax either personally. Maybe that Italian lady I used to date rubbed 'off' on me (lol) more than I thought!

Whenever I was around there seemed to be a constant flow of people through, but I saw plenty of people getting t-shirts. Since you're staying overnight groovin swing by their stand tomorrow and I'm sure they will sort you out.

James - you're only up the road from me so if there is something I can help with feel free to give me a shout.

All I can say is thats TECH SUPPORT!! Nuff said!!

Well I for one dont want to see it released until it works properly - dont care if it takes another six months. Give me stability over new features any day ;)

@ SBDJ
Thank you for clarifying

Thanks SBDJ - I think this morning (Monday) I'll go to the stand first thing, when hopefully the big PA stacks won't be turned up, and ask them to show me around v7 - then try for a T shirt again!

Will do, I'll drop you the info a little later, its the ongoing problem of getting the jogs on an Allen & Heath Xone 3d to map so they go in both directions.

Will fill you in later

i can't understand Tayla , talk about needing translation ....

i keep reminding him i only know english .....

anyway , don't disturb him, he's pissed off cuz , he needs a forklift to carry 99 decks

i got a t-shirt at AC and i NEVER take it off , except for brief moments (she said it was 59 seconds) when it

stands up in the corner

Nobodys mentioned just how heavy these extra 99 decks are gonna be Chuck, will i need extra roadies to transport them...

It's probably because they are improperly defined in what ever definition file you are using. VirtualDJ by default looks at the wrap around point as between 0x01 and 0x7F -- if the wrap point is 0x40 - then VirtualDJ will not know which direction is which - so by default only goes one way - forward (clockwise).

Jog Wheels
A jog wheel is defined by a <jog> element, with the following properties:
- cc: the MIDI cc
- inverted: (optional) set to "true" if the jog is inverted
- zero: set the cc value that represents zero. For a jog that sends 0x01 for forward movement and 0x7F for rewind, set this to "0" (default). For a jog that sends 0x41 for forward movement and 0x3F for rewind, set this to "0x40".
- full: set to the number of steps sent while performing a full rotation (by default 128)

Btw - first I have ever see this issue mentioned.

I've posted up a couple of times regarding the issue. I have been using the simple midi mapper everything else maps perfectly. I'd be happy with the one that was created by a user in the downloads section as that one works for the jogs if the crossfader could be mapped to do video crossfade as its the only midi signal he didnt map.

The user manual which lists all the midi signals is here if someone can help mod the mapper in the downloads section.

Well fixing the mapper from the downloads is easier than using the SimpleMIDIWrapper --

Just update the crossfader action script to --> crossfader & video_crossfader

A lot simpler ...

The problem is the crossfader isnt mapped

Getting past the 99 deck feature in VDJ7, are there any other real enhancments to sound, scratching latency, better effects that we can expect? Or is the whole thing getting hyped just for 99 decks?

Heck I can't wait. The first thing I'm going to do is load the song "99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall" on all 99 Decks and then I'm hitting synch. If so much as one deck is off I'm contacting support and demanding a full refund on all the beer I've bought since I bought this software in 2004. It's about time someone holds Atomix's feet to the fire.

@djrenee
Do not play "99 red ballons" song, than your controller will fly away.:-)

I asked "what's new in v7?" at BPM recently, and the first thing mentioned was the number of decks.

Improvements to the sound engine and scratching quality but no changes whatsoever to the sampler!

I would have liked to see the original sampler design removed and replaced instead by using the extra decks as samplers - perhaps switching from deck to sampler layout when loading a sample file. That way, samples and songs would be on the same screen with waveforms etc.

Awwww no changes to the sampler? Was really hoping there would be a multi bank sampler introduced or smth.

Don't get me wrong, but since you have so many full featured decks why would you need a multi-slot sampler? I mean that you can load a sample file on any deck and manipulate it every way possible without been limited by the current sampler features... You can add effects on your sample, loop it, reloop it, control it's tone (EQ) e.t.c...

If you can load a "VDJ sample file" on the decks (which I think you can do already) then I can't see the reason why not to use 2 or 3 or 6 or... full featured decks for your samples...
