Hi everyone, if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it. I decided in trying DJing out and it seemed pretty fun. I was using shoutcast and winamp dsp to broadcast and decided to upgrade and become more "professional" so bought Virtual DJ (7) and wanted to broadcast using shoutcast. After asking around and spending hours trying to get it to work I gave up trying to connect Virtual DJ to connect to shoutcast. I am using shoutcast 1, not 2, because I couldn't connect using shoutcast server 2. So I am wondering if it is possible to broadcast Virtual DJ 7 to winamp and have winamp broadcast to my server. So basically, virtaulDJ is inputted to winamp and winamp broadcasts to my server. If that is possible I would really appreciate a link to how to do it, or an explanation on this thread.
My other is really simple, i hope. But how do I put my mic as an input to one of my decks. So I could have my music playing on one deck, and I can talk live with my mic, using the other deck. Thanks for your help guys!

I haven't used the broadcasting function myself, so I'm not the best person to give detailed advice. However, as a general tip: you can leave WinAMP out from the chain. Virtual DJ is able to Shoutcast server directly, so you don't have to re-route the signal via WinAMP.

Thanks, after days of trying to get it to work, I got it working, so now if someone could help me with the mic thing, that would be great.

After researching the problem, it appears as though I can't use my mic with virtual dj 7, is this true?

Not true! First what are you using (external mixer, what soundcard, etc etc.) give me that info and I'll help you figure what you gotta do.

can anyone help me?

I would say buy a little 30 dollar soundcard from Behringer. It's cheap and it's gonna make this a whole lot easier. Look at the bottom of your screen and right click on the little speaker icon that should tell you what kind of card you have. I'll try to figure this out.

Before I buy the soundcard though, when I click on my speaker icon, it gives me four options.
1. Open Volume mixer
2. Playback Devices
3. Recording Devices
4. Sounds
5. Volume controls
which one should I click? (I am using windows 7)

I ordered one and I am waiting for it to arrive. I just would like to know how to figure out what to do once I get it.

Ok, the card came today and I believe I put it in correcty. Now how do I find out if I did it correctly?

I got it working. Thanks everyone for your help. If I can, I'd like to ask a question about shoutcast. It says it connects to IP 127.0.0.1 but I can't have have other computers listen with that address so how do I get the server to broadcast to another IP (70.19.190.18) so others can listen!
