ok, my new pc is built but waiting on mate to come over just to see if i did everything right... ill b ok for a NON geek to build a PC.

anyways iv just finished downloading W8 and just wondering if i need to back up my system or choose a diff HDD to install W8.

ill check tomorrow.

thanks guys for ur help

:-{

was hopping when i finish work someone could of answered my question..... PALEEEEEEEEASE :-}

It depends...
If you plan to keep W8 in the future, you can do with a backup. (The version you have DL'ed will only work for a limited time so you need to purchase the definitive version)
If you don't want to spend any money when the definitive version of W8 is released, use another HD to install your OS on. You can switch if your current W8 stops working.

So far so good. I will b installing new HD and SSD on old pc with a new DVD bluray burner so it's not so clogged up in my case. I hate them grey cords.

another question.. what about internet security? can I install windows internet security even thou it hasn't got it for W8?

Windows 8 sog. Charms Leiste/Bar nervt ungemein. Weiss jemand eine Lösung. Windowsforen waren keine Hilfe. Registryeinträge fruchtlos.

Branko, this the English forum, so English only please...
Try turning off all the live tiles on the Metro Desktop. They will continuously try to update. Click with the right mousebutton on a tile. In the bottom of the screen appears a button to turn off the Live-tile. Do so with all of them. If no button appears to turn the tile off, it's not a live tile and you can leave it like it is.

Well I made the switch lastnight and everything is a go, my CPU has jumped up between 5/10% but no crackles with the Audio 8 (the ASIO drivers for the SL3 are crap and I do get crackles).

So my question is, what are some tweaks and services you've shut off??

Almost everything on the left side is a live tile, except IE, SkyDrive, Maps and Pictures. In the middle column there's the Bing-tile, Travel, music and games. This all depends on how you arranged your tiles, but they are recognizable as I described before. (Right-click on a tile. If the button "Disable Live Tile" (or something like this: my version is Dutch....) appears, it's a tile that likes updates)

OK I tweaked it and ran the LatencyMon for 4 hours and everything is good!! Windows 8 on a Asus G1S running videos with timecodes and recording with Bandicam runs my CPU around 45/55 except on loads. I'd say its a keeper!!

Thanks for the time & info

I just got an Asus gaming PC with windows eight for the high end processors (quad core) and video card, my virtual DJ keeps freezing up with the video display. Is this a problem with Virtual Dj software or the video card?

Greetings, I have a mac book pro 13 "2011 i5 2.4, 4 gb ram and intel HD3000, actualize the latest driver from intel page, and KLite codec and place in the Intel QuickSync H264 encoding in both tabs on the same page during installation, activate the YV12BUG, and we go well the mp4s (1080p and all) and mpg2 (or 16:9), yet I still have problems with mpg and vob formats (MPG and VOB majority use), try changing VDJ codec within these formats to Windows media player video decoder, and walk more fluid, but the video is not synchronized with respect to audio, (when I loop or advance the video is worse) that could be? video memory mark 60, the VideoMemMaxUse, what value should be placed??

My new laptop with windows 8 , ... will not play the video files to an extended monitor or projector. It freezes and jitters. Does not play smooth at all. Do I need a different version of virtual DJ for windows 8 or just different drivers. Plays fine on the desk top but not when I extend it to a dtv or projector.

How much ram do you have, and what are the specs of your video card?

Ive got a w8 Acer and the video can be processed by a rather basic onboard intel 4000 or a much better spec'd NVidia card, by default it selects the basic card, and behaved as you said on the extended output, you need select the higher spec'ed card for use with virtual dj.
I would search for the higher seced card setting to make this change.
