Please help?
went to BPM 2012 and came back with a VMS4.1 from American Audio and I'm having troubles setting it up
Installed the disc that came with it but no luck in getting the controller to map properly and also can't get the sound set up right.
Does anyone have any step by step instructions for an idiot?

Hey man, I'm in the same boat as you! Just got the VMS4 today, only half the controller works! Also, my third volume control down on the controller itself controls the, "cue #1" panel on VDJ itself.
It's either a driver issue or for some reason there is a crosswire problem. Although, the guy at the store help me set it up over the phone...so I really have no idea.

* stop Virtual DJ
* Set the front panel switch to 8 out.
Try this , worked for me. Also got my VMS at BPM.
* stop Virtual DJ
* Set the front panel switch to 8 out.
* Then start midi utility
from the from the spotlight window type "midi"
Top Hit should be Audio Midi setup
click on that.
*Audio Midi will start.
*Window -> show midi window.
clicked on default
create new configuration.
VMS AUDIO MIDI DEVICE should show up.
*Window -> show audio window
find the VMS Audio Midi Device in the left panel
should read 2 in / 8 out
right click
use this device for sound output.
*start virtualdj?

Come on ;-), guess it is well explained also for Mac.
Input - None
Ouput - External Mixer
Soundcard - 4-out card -> VMS4.1
The more important thing is to adjust the VMS itself in the right way :-)

Haui summed it up. I had the same problem, max ended up helping me a ton. If you still need further advice, I can send you screen shots. I had to do te 4 card out setting/external mixer when I accessed the VDJ pro version.

I would suggest upgrading to VDJ Pro, lots more options,skins, effects, mappers.
I've been using the VMS series for about 2 years now, and I've had all sorts of issues that I've found fixes for. Hit me up.

Hi Guys, i highly advise upgrading to VDJ PRO for the VMS4.1
if you have issues setting up your VMS4.1 please contact american audio customer support and talk to Sergio or KC @ 800 322 6337
these guys walked me thru the whole set up with no problems
i rock a VMS4.1 with VDJ Pro 7.2 with audio and video with a macbook pro

Right thanks for your help guys, I'd put it away for a few months and just used my Hurcles, I have now re set up with your help, all seems ok apart from ch2 volume on screen shows at full even when you move slider down, but that is all, ok here goes for 1st night at a gig!
