Ok so I think most people record in that format. Recently I recorded a mix in WAV. Because when I tried in mp3 it said codec error or something of that sort. Any difference between the two? Like stated it worked just fine in WAV but I thought I would have all options so why would it not work in mp3?
Thanks

Wave files are uncompressed raw audio where MP3 files are compressed and smaller.
Wave files sound better but take up far more disk space. You can only have a max file size of 4gb on a wave file due to the 32bit header.

Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MP3%20Encoder%20Error.html
This should allow you to fix the error and record directly in MP3 format.

I will just continue with WAV files. I don't make long mixes so I will stick with quality.
Thanks for clarifying
