Hey guys, I have a numark dj rmx controller and a lot of things all of a sudden are messed up, virtual dj hasn't helped me one bit when i asked them so hopefully you fellow users can.

Issues: The music will only play what im selecting to play if the cue/mix knob is turned all the way to mix, if i turn it to cue it will play what i deck i have cue selected no matter where the crossfader is. I have the LE issue, and its been driving me crazy. Also, the gain knobs automatically change where there positions on the software while playing, so i wont have touched it on my controller and then ill switch it to the next deck and it will be twice as loud. This screwed me over many times at shows and live sets and I dont understand VDJ could have something like that in their software. I have deleted everything and re-installed it. Didnt work, please help!!!

On a side note, i plan on switching to the DDJ SX and serato, opinions? Also what are some good speakers that i could use for small gigs and at home? I mainly play house and hip/hip. Thanks

That's normal and how any mixer will work. If it's set to cue then you will only hear the deck that you have selected for pre-listening to (The deck selected for PFL isn't affected by the crossfader/volume faders.) If it's turned towards mix, then you will hear the master output (Deck that's playing out live.)

Turn it part way between cue and mix to be able to hear a blend of both the PFL deck and master output together in your headphones. If this is not working (I.e: You can only hear the track selected for cue (PFL) or the live playing song, but not both at the same time), then check that your settings for the RMX are correct: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/RMX.html

Also, please ensure that you have the latest firmware and drivers from Hercules installed http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20Device%20Drivers.html as well as the most recent VIrtualDJ Console Edition from your Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

This is probably because you are playing songs that you have never played before and are not allowed them to finish loading and be analysed in full (The gain will change appropriately as the song load progresses and the correct value is determined.) To avoid this, make sure that you allow a song that you have never played before to load in full before you start it playing. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Pre-Analysing%20Your%20Music%20Collection.html

You would be best asking this on Serato's forums.

Yea I know its normal, but its normal to hear it through your headphones. Where the problem is it that the cue/mix knob effects what comes out of the speakers. Meaning i cant cue anything up, as it will just simply screw over what im mixing in the controller and strictly play whats cued.

This means that you don't have it configured and/or connected correctly. Either your sound settings are wrong or you have connected to the wrong outputs on the back.

Check that your sound settings are correct as described on the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/RMX.html (In particular, check the drop-down that allows you to choose which outputs are master and which are headphones.)

Outputs 1&2 on the rear are for the master output and you should be connecting your speakers to these connections. The additional outputs 3&4 are the same output as your headphones (For connection to a booth monitor speaker or for use in an external mixer setup with the full VirtualDJ Professional.) For normal master/headphones setup, they should not be used.
