Upgrading to version 7.4 will provide much better jog response (and some LED issues fixes) , as the Sx will work on "Serato" mode and not in "Other software" (you ll have to switch your device to Serato MODE).
You will have to delete the SX files from \VirtualDJ\Devices and VirtualDJ\Mappers folders and install either the updated native mapper http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/15822/Pioneer_DDJ-SX_(Native).html or the updated Phantom's mapper http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/15383/Pioneer_DDJ-SX.html .

The SX skin follows 95% the default mapper.

DJdad,

Thanks so much for your response. Just one final question. I read somewhere in this forum that if i commence with the upgrade i will no longer be able to run the Serato DJ anytime i want. More like' it's an either or situation. Is this true? Can anyone pls confirm?

Thanks all

Installing VirtualDJ has no effect on Serato and vice-versa.

This comment may come from the fact that prior to the native support in VirtualDJ v7.4, you had to switch the DDJ-SX to 'other software' mode to use it with VirtualDJ. This is no-longer the case and you should leave it in the default Serato mode. It will work with both software in this mode, but obviously you can't run both simultaneously!
