Is it compatible? My laptop died, I have a gig tonight. The laptop I'm looking at is windows 8. will the software work with it? I'm in a real time crunch, so thanks for a response

Yes, VirtualDJ will work. No idea why you thought it wouldnt?
You may have issues with drivers for your controller however and some external devices don't like USB3 connections. Check with the manufavturers website to see if Windows 8 drivers are available for your devices if you have any.
