Hi,
I am using the LE version, and am trying to apply effects to a loop, which I then sampled.
scenario:
1.I load up a song, and then click in/out where I want the loop to start/stop
2. select an effect to apply to the loop.
2a. confirm its all good with the effect, and proceed to sample1
(at this point, i'm feelin it. now to make this loop a sample)
3. I select the sample "track" I want to use from the dropdown, and while the loop is playing I hit record button
4. When I play the sample back, the effects are no longer present. When I play the loop from the deck, the effects are still in place.
****
after reading the FAQ, the manual, and many forum posts ... I can't tell if VDJ allows for this.
my questions are:
1. can you apply effects to a sample? (no problem getting effects on the loop)
2. can you sample other samples/loops?
(ie drag sample1 to one of the decks(?), create a loop on deck2, and combine loop and sample1 them to make another sample.
(like mixing down multiple tracks to one track)
It'd be sweet if that was possible. If it is possible, it'd be super sweet to have some documentation if thats possible.
thanks very much.

You can't apply effects to samples directly, what you could do is
Make your loop, apply the effect, record the result via the "record" section in the browser space and then you can put the record track on a deck,
I've heard that in v.8.0 you can re-route sample slots to another deck so you can nudge add effects etc, which will be nice [rant] WHEN THEY GET ROUND TO RELEASING IT[/rant]

Thanks for replying. I thought I was doing that ...
I'll retry with the steps you suggest.
Besides that. I'm lovin me some virtualDJ.
Well done everyone.
