Ok...since I've been waiting over a year now for VDJ 8 to be released I purchased Serato DJ with the video plugin. It works great with my NS7 and there latest update (1.6.1) now allows you to record your video sets!!!!! It works flawlessly and the rendered video looks the same as the original video quality. Records the video transitions, effects and all. I don't know....VDJ 8 better at least match the ability to record your video mix or I doubt I'll be continuing to use VDJ. IJS...

VDJ can already record the same as SDJ, come on at least know how to use VDJ before you post stuff like this.......
Anyways SDJ records only in avi format so your going to have a huge ass file and you can ONLY choose between 720 or 480 so I wouldn't try anything over 45/60 minutes. Now when it comes to recording with either program I'll pass and use a 3rd party recorder so I can choose what format, what definition I want and even how the sound is recorded.
Your argument is weak bro and if that's all that matters to you, well you should set your standards a little higher........

Something Virtual DJ has been able to do for the past 3+years ATLEAST!!!
As Huey said - weak argument. But I get it, people are excited and want their hands on the new version so lets not be to harsh but please understand one software before comparing it to another.
Thanks :-)

Maybe he's a Mac user. Don't think VDJ allows video recording on Mac but I could be wrong :(

Your right Keith it still doesn't work but even still I wouldn't use VDJ even if I could, I'd just use ScreenFlow, lol!!
But yeah I get what your saying.

It's fun to compare software...
I just compared VDJ to Cross 3.0 and VDJ 7 BLEW IT AWAY in every aspect.
Not ripping on Cross but VDJ just works and works VERY well ... and that says a lot! And this is before version 8...
Thanks again VDJ...

I love VDJ...been a user for 5 years or more. The vide rendering quality is NOT on the level of what serato has now...not even close. Not to mention is takes a lot of tinkering to record video in VDJ. Serato does it seemlessly. The avi. video looks great...much better than VDJ in my opinion. Changing the avi. format to something else like mp4 is no problem when the rendered video is top notch like it seems to be. If you think VDJ video mix recording looks better post a mix up on Youtube and I'll post one from Serato DJ to compare. The video mix recording is one of the reasons I purchased VDJ in the first place. It never worked on my Mac so I put it on a pc and I still didn't like the video "recorded" quality. Video playback in VDJ is TOP NOTCH...but rendered video mixes are not....jmo I always had to end up editing the video mix in Vegas or another video editing program. Won't have to do that with Serato Dj. I'm sure avi. rendering is the a start...pretty sure mp4 rendering will be next being that serato is geared toward Mac users.
I'm definitely not throwing rocks at VDJ....just comparing rendered video mix quality.

As long as you are happy, that's all that matters.
