So the BPMs decreasing or increasing as it blends into the next song will not be changed??
I'm still wondering why it would do that.
It should be an option if you want it to try and beatmatch!!!
Why isn't this being implemented???????

I have beatmatch off.
It seems like it tries to beatmatch down not up. Meaning if the next song was a lower bpm then it would try to beatmatch but if it was higher then it will not try to beatmatch.

Hi Koz,
Have you got the automixbeatmatchonfade in the advanced settings set to no? it's under the header for automix.
Is Smart Play on or of?

ok, sorry it did'nt help you. But I think it's probably some setting somewhere. I'm using build 2028 on a pc with Fruits skin and can make it mix without any beatmatch or tempo change.
Maybe someone from Atomix will pick it up
All the best

This seems to be happening only on Mac.
It seems like it is doing it only on the lower bpms.

DJ Koz,
Just to be clear. There are two "Beatmatch" related settings in the options:
"AutoBPMmatch: in the "Audio Section" - This one automatically adjusts the pitch of a loaded song to match the song already playing"
and
"automixbeatmatchonfade" in the "auto mix" section - This one tries to beat match songs of similar BPM when using the FADE auto mix type.
The second one sounds exactly like the issue you are experiencing.
Have you confirmed that BOTH of those settings are set to "NO"?

Can anyone with a Mac version with latest VDJ 8 release please try to recreate this by taking a 90bpm song and a 85bpm song in automix and see what happens?
geposted Wed 05 Nov 14 @ 8:45 am
Which automix mode are you using?
geposted Wed 05 Nov 14 @ 9:39 am
Fade (remove silence)
It did it no matter what mode I used,

I just tried it:
Macbook Pro 17" Late 2011
OSX Yosemite
VDJ8 build 2028.855
Song 1 : 50 Cent - In Da Club - 90.0 BPM
Song 2 : California Swag District - Teach Me How to Dougie - 85.0 BPM
I Set Both Beatmatch options to NO (I normally keep the automix beat match at yes, so I changed it to NO.
My Automix configuration is set to single deck, FADE, Remove Silence.
I dragged both songs (in that order) into the auto mix playlist and hit the auto mix button.
Song 1 played at 90BPM as expected, then it faded to Song 2. Song 2 played at 85.0 BPM as expected. I did not see the program try to adjust the BPM on either song.
I know it doesn't make any sense, but maybe toggle the beat match options ON, Close the program, re-open it and then toggle them back OFF??????

OK fired up the laptop loaded tracks and it is not trying to beatmatch anymore. Weird.

I WAS WRONG!!! STILL TRYING TO BEATMATCH!
geposted Thu 06 Nov 14 @ 10:57 pm
If autoMixBeatMatchOnFade is off, and automix mode is indeed set to fade, then the only time it would still beatmatch is if you explicitly used the automix editor for these 2 songs and defined a custom mix with beatmatching on.

Adion,
I just discovered that. Holy moly was that aggravating! It was so annoying listening to songs all of a sudden speed up and slow down.
Why would anyone use beatmatch for dinner or cocktail mixes?
Thanks for your help everyone.
