Changing key up makes a track sound louder, changing down quieter, (not a fault nor a bug, it's just physics) Now I can script a fix for this for myself but wouldn't it be better if VDJ just sorted it out itself. (as a option to keep everyone happy)

It's not just perceived volume, it actually does get quieter or louder as you adjust the key.
Not only can you hear the volume change, you can see it on the channel meters. I'd call that a bug.

Na it's just physics, but if they thought about it they could iron this difference out, the karaoke peeps might appreciate it, And maybe the breakcore heads like me,
