VOB files are just too big for my old i5. How do I get the rip to MPEG function to work???

To guarantee best qualtiy of your converted Video i would recommend a external software like Wondershare.
Best tool on market so far...

So I rip to VOB and use this program to convert?
 
you can rip directly from DVD to MP4 ... no additional step required :-)
