I recently purchased the Vestax Typhoon DJ controller. Unfortunately the controller becomes unresponsive after 10 minutes of operating. Included the package was a CD for Virtual DJ ver.7. However, my Macintosh doesn't have CD drive. I went to the Virtual DJ site and downloaded the ver7, however it will not work with my OS (10.10.1). I believe I need a serial number for Virtual DJ ver8 to solve this problem.

(EDIT)
I HAVE SOUND, RE THE CONTROLLER WORKS, BUT SHUTS DOWN AFTER 10 MINUTES OF OPERATING. I HAVE ONE OF THE NEWER MACS WITH NO CD DRIVE. I HAVE ALSO DOWNLOADED VER7, AND VER7.42. NEITHER WILL WORK WITH MAC OS X 10.10.1. I HAVE DOWNLOADED VER8 IT WORKS, BUT SHUTS DOWN AFTER 10 MINUTES. I NEED A SERIAL FOR VER8

Have you logged into VDJ8 with your forum login that you use here yet?

You may to have be happy playing for 10 minutes at a time or get the full version for your controller ($99 for Typhoon) or the PRO version ($299.00 works with most/all? controllers). There is other software out there that can be had for free (MIXXX, etc.) but may not be as user friendly and well supported as Virtual DJ. You may also try converting the Virtual DJ 7 CD into a file (.iso?) and putting it on a thumb drive then try installing the software via the thumb drive. Not sure if it will work 100% but worth a shot.

See page 84 of the user manual. It talks about licenses and shows where to login. I'm not sure if that unlocks the LE version or not. Also, you should be able to find the download for your LE version by going to your account area here in the forum. Then, on the left, there is a license icon. Clicking there will show you your available version downloads, including your LE VDJ7.
The full Pro/Infinity does have a lot more to offer then the LE version. An upgrade is highly recomended. A lot of LE versions are eligible for a discount as well.

You are using a VirtualDJ Version 7 LE Version. Make sure all drivers are installed ( if required on Mac) and the controller is detected by your OS.
V8 will not work unless you purchase a V8 Plus Controller Licence.

@OP:
1) Please avoid using CAPS
2) Your copy of VirtualDj is not entitled to VirtualDj 8 LE. There is no version 8 LE for it.
3) You can use VirtualDj 7 LE instead.
To do so:
A) Uninstall any version of VirtualDj from your MAC
B) Download your version 7 LE copy from the following link: http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html (click on "My Licenses" button on the left)
C) Use your serial number (visible on the above page) to license your copy of VirtualDj 7 LE
D) Enjoy!

Thank you to all the help. As I stated in the first post. Having no CD drive is not a problem as I can download ver7 from the site here. However, having just downloaded, I get the message, "The latest version of VirtualDJ needs MacOS X 10.5 or higher. Please contact us if you need an older version still compatible with 10.4"
A rather strange error message as I'm running OS X 10.10.1
I went to the Virtual DJ site and downloaded the ver7, however it will not work with my OS (10.10.1).

I'm sorry but as far as i know is the old VDJ7 LE version not compatible with 10.10 and a older Mac.
The problem is that Version7LE is out of developemnt since a long time and so not longer compatible.
Guess i only can advise you to downgrade the OS to 10.9 and give it a try or upgrade to our actual version8.

When you upgrade to VirtualDJ 8 PLUS "Controller" (Typhoon) you will get a small discount, when you enter your VDJ7LE license key at Discount Price.

To be sure everything will work, it would be best when you try our free version from here for a test :-)
