FYI Virtual DJ 8 does not use or require a serial number. It registers your license via your account details here.

....and you're logged in to VDJ 8 as DJRenegadeUSA? If you're not logged in then VDJ can't "see" what license you have.

Yes I am but I don't want to be connected to the internet while I am DJ'ing as we have issues with the mixer's soundcard when connected to the NET.

There is no license number for VDJ 8. It just works by you logging in with your forum details.
What controller do you have? Many controllers are auto detected by VDJ 8. On most others, the audio settings are similar (master and headphones).
If you check the wiki here, you may find a setup guide.
