Hi,
I am setting up a friends system with a main and a backup. He has a bunch of files the had "track #" instead of title and artist. So we went in and used tag editor to use the file name as the tag, hit write tag and hit ok. It was successful as the track now shows proper info.
Now we copied the whole music files to a portable and transferred them to the backup system. Fired up VDJ and guess what, NO TAGS!
I looked at the file itself and found the tag was in fact changed. Is this how it is supposed to work?

If you copied the tracks from outside of vdj, perhaps there was already a vdj database on the external disk with the old info in it?
You could select all the files from within vdj, then use batch->reload tags to reload the tags from disk.
