I was messing around with my Numark NV at home, messing with different sound setups, paused to watch a few Youtube videos, and went back to playing with the NV...hit play, no sound...wave forms are moving, VU meter in vdj and 0n the controller are bouncing, dead silence...WTF right. Shut everything down, powered back up...still silence, has happened before, a power down and reboot has always brought it back to life, I start checking everything, cables...check, power supply...check, restore everything to factory defaults...check, reboot, reboot, reboot....still nothing!! At this point I am thinking F*&k, I haven't had it for 2 weeks yet!! So I submit a help request to Numark...meanwhile I start to dig into the system stuff in windows, checked device manager, and made sure all drivers are up to date, yada yada, and notice that the NV installs a playback device in device manager...makes sense... I wonder?....so I go to the speaker icon in the system tray (windows 10) and go to Playback devices, low and behold (see below). Went to Properties and there is a levels tab, clicked that tab and the NV speakers Playback device is muted, Well DUH!! figure 2. Unmute. Nirvana!! all is right with the world again!! Rock on....so I related the story to the Numark tech when he emailed today, and told him to have a good laugh at my expense! I share that here with the same recommendation :)
