Is it possible to use VirtualDJ 8 with Open Sound Control (OSC)? Specifically, I'd like to control Virtual DJ from an external application, using OSC, if possible.

There is no OSC support in VDJ8. You would have to create your own OSC plugin.

Indeed, a custom plugin would make sense; it would be a "clean" solution.
I have now found an alternative (indirect) approach, which does not require additional programming, proposed in the following article:

It relies on using PD, a utility to convert OSC data to MIDI data, which allows for controlling VirtualDJ via MIDI.
