I tried to load my V7 skin in V8 and got the message
"Error
Impossible to load skin <skin name>"
After some investigation I found the reason was that my image file was .bmp. I converted it to .png and works fine.
The V8 skin documentation for the image file states:
"Note: BMP and JPG files can also be used, but PNG offers transparency which can make your skins more powerful"
but that is not my experience.

bmp files are still supported. You can even load VirtualDJ 5 skin !
So there must be some other issue with your skin.

I have repeated the process with the same result.
1) Compressed my .bmp and .xml skin files into a .zip file.
2) Loaded .zip file into Cue Mac V7 OK.
3) Attempted to load same .zip file into VDJ Mac V8 and get error message above.
4) Opened .bmp file in GIMP and exported it as .png file
5) Compressed .png and .xml files into a .zip file
6) Loaded .zip file into VDJ Mac V8 OK.
I suppose it doesn't really matter (to me) as I have a working system and maybe this post will help others but it looks as though something is not quite right. Are there diagnostics or log messages that would reveal why the skin fails to load?

Maybe you need to buy the software to unlock it and then start your own thread or contact support.
