Just picked up a Gemini GV4 from a friend. To the best of my knowledge, I have downloaded all of the latest necessary items. When I hit the eigth pad, which should be a 4-bar loop, it is only giving me 1-bar or 4 beats. Any idea why this is happening? How can I fix?

This is on both decks? Have you checked the mapper?

Yes on both. TBH, I have been intimidated to edit the mappings however, if you can provide some direction, willing to give it a go.

G4V uses the new PADS implementation for the mapper
Therefore while the loop pad page is visible on the GUI, use the parameter buttons to switch the loop page size to one that suits your needs

Total noob on adjusting mappings, but spent quite a bit of time last night trying to do this with mixed results. Under options, there is a factory default and Gemini G4V. Former works, but loop lengths are off. The latter does not work at all when selected.
So, which mappings option should I be working off of?
As for changing the parameters, how do you do that? From what I recall, if I go to edit loop pad page, select pad 1, then parameter1, it says loop_pad_page. Should this be changed to loop_length with desired length at end (i.e. loop length 16)? I tried something similar without success.
Thanks for all that take the time to help out. Nothing like having a new gadget and not being able to enjoy it immediately.

No, there's no need to mess with mappings or the pads editor.

Couple of useful notes ...
- The selected Page in the LOOP Pads Page is saved across sessions, so if you select e.g. Page 4, close VDJ and re-open, the Page 4 will be pre-selected.
- If you accidentally changed any of the default Pad Pages through the Editor and something doesnt work for you as expected, close VirtualDJ, goto Documents/VirtualDJ/Pads folder and delete the xml file of the Pad page you modified. Open VDJ again and the Pad page will be loaded with its default assigned actions and settings.

Thanks for the responses. I saw and tried some of this last night. Under loops, when you click edit, I believe it brings you to the place referenced in the link. However, under parameter 1, it does not say or show anything about the loop length. Is it supposed to? Or, should I overwrite whatever is there to reflect loop length?
At work now, but will look into this when I get home.

You should NOT EDIT the pad page.
You should NOT OPEN THE PAD PAGE EDITOR at all.
Just start VirtualDj, select the loop pad page on each deck, hover your mouse on the red area of the previous photo to see the arrows, and click on them until the values you see on screen match your preferences.
