I'm about 6 to 8 months on Virtual DJ. I've learned how to use quite a few effects to my advantage, such as slicer and custom key mappings.
I'm messing around with samples. I was wondering if Virtual DJ ever plans on (or currently has) a track layout grid, similar to Magix Music Maker, that would allow you to snap to grid load samples into a player to remix songs with.

You mean a sequencer? This has been requested a few times now, going back a while, by various people.
I posted about it recently, and SBDJ said that he'd been working on something.

yes, exactly that, a sequencer.
I was planning on importing the recorded samples into magix music maker, but the default are not audio files, but virtual dj propriety files that I assume are just serving as indexes to the actual audio files.

A sequencer sort of feature would definitively be interesting, and have been discussed a bit.
