There is an Applescript for Mac users in the Addons. It's called Backup VDJ by rrrichieXL.
It backs up all the important folders as well as the settings and database XML files.
The only thing it doesn't do for me is backing up the external database XML file stored on my external hard drive, I do that manually.

I was thinking more for users moving to new machines, removing all the doubt,
Not for myself.
Plug in an external, or network 2 machines, press a button, follow a wizard and a few hours later everything (tracks, db, settings, PL's vfolders) just verks.
