I went through the advanced setting to see if there was a checkbox for the beatlock to be released (or a similar reset function) for when I load the next song on to the next deck. Is there a setting for that and I'm just not seeing it?

Easily solved with a oninit repeat_start script that checks for load_pulse

As usual. You can do it with Virtual DJ, but it is complicated. No help from atomix itself.

btw the better option seems to me "pitchlock" and this reset when a new track is loaded

In latest version there's a key <ONSONGLOAD> on the keyboard mapper (and only the keyboard)
You can use that key to execute any actions you like when a new track gets loaded on a deck.
Eg: loop_select 4 & pad_page 'hotcues' & beatlock off
