upgraded to vdj 2020 and loving it. my computer had crashed recently and ofcourse i didn't backup. With that said got it back up, now I can't load any effects including milkdrop, shaders, skins ect... I really am stuck and need some help. I'm convince its my computer settings, but can't figure it out

Are you now running the 64 bit version of VDJ, whereas before it was 32 bit?
If so, you'll need 64 bit versions of plugins and shaders. Milkdrop is only 32 bit at the moment, although SBDJ did say recently that he has a 64 bit version in the pipeline.
Skins shouldn't be an issue. There's no incompatibility between 32 and 64 bit.
