Hi,
I've followed all the advice I've been able to see on the virtualdj.com forums and have attempted to download 500-600 shaders but continue to get the identical response above.
I've gone through the settings as advised by another user and amended the "no" to "yes" under the Metal line of code in the performance section, but still continue to receive the same message.
Can someone please advise me where I could be going wrong?
Many thanks

Thanks Nicotux for your swift reply. Wasn't aware the title was truncated.
Basically I've tried to download circa 500/600 new shaders from Shadertoy to a new macbook pro.
I was able to download without any kind of restrictions when using a 2014 Macair, running High Sierra.
However, since I upgraded the machine to ther new model and used Apple's migration assistant to help with the transfer (High Sierra making the big step up to Big Sur), all the shaders I'd previously downloaded had disappeared.
When I attempt to download ANY shaders whatsoever from Shadertoy I get the same message: "This shader is not compatible with VirtualDJ" .I've tried so many different ones but none of them work.
Can you offer any advice on whether I'm doing anything wrong or how I could remedy this situation?
Thanks for your help
David

It's probably the fact that you are using mac that limits what works
But the easiest is probably to use a collection that other people have already downloaded and tested with VDJ:
For the 32-bit version of VDJ:
http://3am.dk/Shaders32bit.zip
For the 64-bit version of VDJ:
http://3am.dk/Shaders64bit.zip
For Mac (no folders included)
http://3am.dk/ShadersMac.zip
If your browser security blocks the download link, then simply copy/paste it to a new browser window

Thanks for the links. I tried to download them but got a message stating the url was not found on the server.

spurious "zero width space" in the link ^^ (%E2%80%8B)
fixed ones :
http://3am.dk/Shaders32bit.zip
http://3am.dk/Shaders64bit.zip
mac link not affected

thanks all for your advice - I'm using a mac and have downloaded a list of shaders from the link above which appear like: 4dlGRn.shader. how can i add these to VDJ? have played around with a few variations like this one: www.shadertoy.com/view/4dlGRn but still says not compatible with vdj.
can anyone suggest where I'm going wrong?
Cheers

You say you're using a Mac - does it have the new M1 chip?
If so, that's probably the issue. The compiled shaders only work on the system which compiled them, which is why there are separate links for 32 bit, 64 bit and Mac (but that would be Intel Mac).
Also I believe currently that VDJ doesn't run natively on the M1 chip, so even if they did compile, when Atomix release a native M1 version of VDJ, the shaders would all need re-downloading.

VDJ does run on M1 natively.
If you were using Metal on mac before the shaders will still work without recompiling, but if you were using OpenGL then they would need to be recompiled.

Thanks GROOVINDJ & ADION for your helpful responses.
I had previously been running a MacAir with an intel chip and had added some really impressive shaders.
Then recently migrated everything across to a MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, but have had multiple issues with several apps trying to get things all running smoothly again.
The old MacAir didn't use Metal so I guess, as you mentioned they'll need to be recompiled.
How do I go about doing that?
Cheers for your help

You can copy the .shader files from Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\Visualisations from your previous computer to Documents\VirtualDJ\PluginsMacArm\Visualisations
Then they should show up in the shader, and when clicking them you should get the question to redownload them which will also recompile them.
Make sure VirtualDJ has permission to write to your documents folder in Security/Privacy, but other than that most should work like this.

Cheers ADION for the recommendation. The old machine is still running fine so I'll give your suggestion a shot and see how it goes 👊

Hello,
I recently upgraded to a new Macbook Pro with the M1 chip, and when I try to upload new shaders from shader toy.com. Every shader so far has said that it is incompatible with virtual DJ.
I tried changing the skin engine settings, and went into the virtual dj code signature file using textedit to ensure that the "Usemetal" setting was turned on like a previous post had suggested. But there was nothing like what the post said I should find, and the virtual dj application contents are no longer stored in documents, and only are showing "code signature" when I open the package details on the application.
Is there any resolution to being able to access shaders again? Part of there reason I upgraded my gear, was so I could run shaders along with my software without distortion In the quality during broadcasts, but now it appears I can't access any shaders at all. Please Help
