Topic: Constantly losing bpm information on external hard drive
I'm using a mac (version 10.15.7)
2 TB external hooked to an MPC live
I'm not a dj so much as a beatmaker. I use virtualdj for finding remixes.
The problem is I must have run the bpm analysis a bunch of times but every time i open VirtualDJ its a coin flip if I see the bpm data again. I dug into the database.xml and found that there is one on the external and on in "My Documents". Not sure which one its using so that's peculiar. Sometimes the update timestamps are updated in one but not the other. Also the file paths in the database.xml are randomly choosing "I:/ E:/ G:/" as base paths as opposed to /Volumes/... path.
Is it the hard drive its self?
Is it my setup?
Should I update the id3 tags instead? Does virtualdj look at id3 tags for bpm info?

This is hell. Anyone have a better solution.

Might be write permission to some of the locations.

Easiest way would just be to give VirtualDJ full disc access

Thanks I gave it full access and I am running the bpm scan from scratch.. Of course now i notice all the artists, album data is blank.. I'm just completely fed up at this point.
