hello I have version b7462. I have been told on a forum to not use this version live and I should only use live when performing Build 7445. Is that correct

Just use the latest full release version. They are beta then pre release tested so are safe to use.

I have been told on another forum that the version which virtual DJ has to download 7462 is not the version to use as a DJ live. They are recommending to go for an earlier version 7446. I would have thought whichever is on the website would be the version to use

Well there are serious issues with recent versions (crackling, stems messing everything up, sluggish performance) so this question is legit.

The simple answer is to use the latest Public release for gigging, which is currently b7462.
Early Access versions should only be used for testing.
