Topic: Awful sound when stopping record by hand during stem split
I'm using an Audio 8 dj interface with Serato control vinyl. The way I have it set up is to use 4 decks with 2 turntables using stems split (1/3 and 2/4). Normally if I stop the record with my hand the music stops without any issue. However, if I stop the record with my hand after I've split the track into acapella/instrumental, I get an awful sound from the other channel. For example, if I stop deck 1 by putting my hand on the record I get a terrible sound on channel 3. Is there any way to prevent that?

I just picked up a Pioneer DJM-A9 and I'm still having the issue so I don't think it's a problem with my interface. Again the issue is only when stem split is active (on the mirrored deck). I can stop and scratch the record fine when stem split is not active.

I believe this is only a problem with the time code. I do not think controllers have this issue.
