Topic: Built in Itinerary/Wedding Planner
I was a VDJ user since 2001. I am sorry to say I left Virtual DJ in 2009, as I wanted to stop dragging around a laptop, I switched to all-in-ones (Denon Prime 4 & Denon Prime Go). I had a love hate relationship, so I decided to go to iPads, and split the difference. My iPad system has been great for the last two years, but it as well has some shortcomings. I have been looking to come back to VDJ, but One thing I loved about having multiple iPad screens was I would have my Wedding itinerary up on one screen at all times.
As I am refamiliarizing myself with VDJ, I looked at the side panel where the side list and auto mix live, and thought, wouldn't it be great to have a listed itinerary in that side panel.
Like a iPhone reminder list with checkboxes you can mark off to signify what is done.
Then I though even better, would be, what if this list could associate songs with each event, so you could click on say father/daughter dance and drag the event to a deck, and it loads the song you associated with that event. It would be super convenient.
If any dev would like to reach out to me for a clearer explanation I would be glad to discuss the idea.

There's nothing there that couldn't be done with sidelist or a list and intelligent tagging, I could probably guide you beyond what you think possible without any SW additions.

This is my itinerary this weekend, you are saying I can enter all this information into a side list, including, names, timestamps, notes for different announcements, and notes on start and end times of songs?..
Also I wouldn't be able to drop requests into the side list then?

I don't care for this particular skin but somebody wanted an edit recently so I had it to hand

the pop up you see on top is a list
that list you can add a 1 second silent track, then make 30-50 copies
rename those tracks however you want
order however
tag however you want
slot real tracks into that list.
have a thing that quick colours your notes as they become past events

You're pushing it going for a new thing for a wedding in 2 days time, but given a little more prep you could be rolling with something like this by maybe next weekend.
I could give you everything you need to be rolling with it by this weekend but would you be ready?

I just made this mock up itinerary that can sit on either a popup window on a second screen or in the sideview, or even a custom browser so you can see sideview and itin at the same time.
Nothing revolutionary here just adding basic abilities together until we get the result we need.

I wasn't looking to implement it for this weekend already, I just thought it would be a cool side list option, there are so many slots there I have never used in 20 years. ie Karaoke, sampler, Remixes. My current workflow is...

iPad Pro 13"
As DJ software
in Vertical format
on the right iPad mini With itinerary
Below that 2nd iPad mini with Mixer software/lightrider DMX

This all fits in a 19" Rack. If I use a laptop and want to keep the small footprint , I can't fit multiple iPads or laptops.
Picture not uploading so terrible diagram below lol

If you don't have the rig space for extra screens you can do the samething either as a sideview shortcut [easily done your end, just have to live with swapping sideview focus] or you could get the browser customised so you can see both at the same time

Thanks for all of the ideas. I will figure out something. I know what was in my head, and it was super clean. I may do a mock up video to show my thoughts. VDJ is a great program, I (36 years doing this and 50 years old now) lightened my load, and downsized, I used to carry massive controllers like the SZ and had a wide (heavy) setup, with two laptops, and I would keep a pdf along with my lighting software up on the second computer. Now I am trying to figure out how to work a laptop with sound switch back into my workflow. Mostly because (although Algoriddim is amazing DJ software), nothing touches VDJ's library management.

I've got a thing for midi out to soundswitch, [running on ~10 machines round the world] it's more capable than the half support they [soundswitch] offered for os2l, and soundswitch will lie to you saying it isn't possible [and I've told them how twice]

My thing does live midi from hw or skin button press, but it also does midi out from action poi, and there's a whole thing for placing those action poi easily.

I'm not one for voice overs, so pay attention and you'll see what it does.
The more recent versions has a smaller popup and more user suggested features than this early proof of concept video
