Topic: Roland DJ 707m, no Takeover
Hello, i connect my 707m with VDJ (newest Driver and Firmware installed, VDJ Version 2025 b8553). When i move any Fader or knops on the controller, the same Items in VDJ dont follow, they stand still. the crossfader from VDJ dont works, i can move him , but this dont change anything.
in the settings i choose TakeoverController Mode: gradual.
the mapping is on factory setting.
what is to do?

i saw now, only the mixersection in the middle of the Pro Skin didnt follow the controller. the items in the two player windows work.

If you look at the audio config in VDJ (or read the setup guide) you will see that it's an "external mixer" setup.

The output of each deck goes directly to the 707m. The software mixer in VDJ is bypassed. It doesn't do anything.

And why not the default pickup value ?

Default is Gradual, but I try all settings. Always the same...

if i understamd you right , its a normal situation and i cant do anything. i only want to know that, its no big problem...

As @Adion (a developer of the software) said, the default value of controllerTakeoverMode and controllerTakeoverPitch are both Pickup (the control will eventually "pick up" the value once you move it to the position that is equal to the skin value) - you can test this by backing up your settings.xml and restarting the program, so this most likely was changed by you.

As for what those options are and how they work, please read the User Manual about those options, the various values they can take and what they mean.

The other point that @groovindj noted - given the device has an external mixer, ultimately it doesn't matter what you see on the software - the software controls most likely have no effect on the actual values as that point, only the hardware does. If a control sends MIDI, you would most likely see the software try to reflect the value on the skin, but that's about it (and only if it sends MIDI)

Incorrect. The mixer is MIDI despite the fact that the audio routing requires Decks separated

No, that's not normal. They should move. Will double-check here.
Perhaps there is some setting in the Device Utility that enables MIDI mixer, cant recall

You re on Windows, right ?

Yes, Windows 11

O.k, i understand you. As i said, its no problem for me, i only saw it and wanted to know, why there is no reaction. Thank you for your answers!
