Topic: Playlist search bar - Page: 2

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Yea so OP what we're saying is, VirtualDJ, through search_folders, will present you with a search field in a popup window that shows you the same information (it shows like Spotlight and disappears on hitting enter).

It being a permanent part of the skin is a asthetic/cosmetic aspect - the functionality is available/roughly the same (once again, I use both software so it's not like I'm guessing).

Part of being a part of the forum and giving you suggestions, is for you to try it and to say if it doesn't match your expectations.
You haven't done that at all - instead, you showed us a screenshot that circles both applications on things we already know.

I can do the proof, but you'll have to wait until I get home to show you. Other persons can show you the output on the VirtualDJ side if they have the availability.

However, all you have to do, is try what we suggested, and if it doesn't work, then say what is different so that devs can continue with it.

Remember, it is you who are saying the functionality is unequal (you made the post). The onus really is on you to follow through and prove that it doesn't exist.

So if I hit the custom button for "search_folder" and search for 70s I get a list of any playlist, history file or filter folder that "70s" appears in. Is that not what you are after?

The button is on custom skin
But you can add on your own.

I would add though, right now this can double list things - for example, if I have a filter folder that is stored in my lists, it is also listed under Ideas/Filters, so it gets listed twice.

It would be nice for the verb to take a parameter that allows it to narrow what is listed (e.g. "mylists+history") (excuse my ignorance if it actually does - I didn't really try to experiment to see if it does, and I don't remember @locodog's Script School post talking about whether or not that is possible).
