Not a good choice if you consider yourself a "PRO".........

As a backup I guess it would get you by - but then why not just use your phone or a tablet?

From the specs so far it seems like it should be faster than the M1 Air, so should be fine for VirtualDJ

Yup like I said, if you consider yourself a pro, then the NEO is a no go….
Just buy a spec out, MacBook and use your old MacBook as the backup….

Although I agree that if you can afford it the M4 and 16GB ram are obviously the better and more future proof choice, the 'review' is a bit funny.
He didn't actually try the device himself, both of the people he asked said it works fine, and still he wouldn't recommend it for no real reasons.
Of course if you need more internal storage then you have no choice, but if the main use of the machine will be audio dj'ing then 512 gb will probably be fine even without an external.

If its a djing laptop (i installed only VDJ, audacity and mp3 tag and some other small programs) with an external drive 256gb is more than enough for a laptop.

Mojaxx did say he's not going to buy something he doesn't need. If Apple had sent him one, no doubt he would have tested it. I think the reasons he gives are perfectly sound and IMO common sense.
I'd apply the same logic to many things. Don't go for the cheapest option. Get something at least midrange and preferably higher end. It'll last you longer before it's outdated.
Personally 256GB would not hold my music collection. Even with 512 it'd be tight.
