Seagate ? I work for one Canada's telecommunications company.
Having your IP adress exposed on the net is totally nothing serious. There are many factors on why it's nothing to be concerned about:
1) Most IP configuration is Dynamic ... meaning your IP adress changes every time you dial-up to an ISP or DSL provider
2) Most of the time, it is extremely hard to hack one's computer with JUST an IP adress. Vulnerable attacks occur when a program leaves an open port
3) Its impossible ESPECIALLY if you're behind a firewall.
