It's avaliable in many online stores, it depends on which country your in?, it's always better to order from a local company, they normally offer a FREE delivery service.

Ive been told from my local onlineshop, that there is problems(failure) with the product? And they therefor cant tell when they can deliver... and the earliest they can promise is early may...

Kind regards

I've had the MK2 Control MP3 (same as Console, but without sound cards - im only a bedroom/office dj)

I have had no problems with the controller, and it has made the program more fun, easier to use.

i love the herc mk2..

as a new dj just starting my trade, it's really a great sound card, mixer, and controler built (might as well have been) for virtual dj.

two thumbs up

Bought one myself the other day, and I have to say I was disappointed. The scratch wheels are a bit of a gimmick, as they are not touch sensitive - you can't press on the wheel to "hold" the track, it will start playing as soon as the wheel is not moving.

If you want to use an external mixer - forget it. They seem to be having some issues with this at the moment, although it's been said it's going to be fixed soon.

On the other hand, if you're happy to use the onboard mixer, it's basic but all the important stuff is there. It's very portable, and as a soundcard, mixer and controller it's got to be good value for money. If you're a professional user who's used to using professional kit, you might find this unit falls a little short of the mark. Mine's going back to the shop - I think I'll spend the money on a generic midi controller....

Like you said the Hercules is more value for money than the highest of quality, but I still love them :), the jogs are just that, jog wheels rather than for scratching, although backspins are possible in scratch mode ;), and a few simple scratch moves..

Here is a link to the work around for linking it up to an external mixer: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/45484/Hardware_Technical_Support/Hercules_MK2_with_EXTERNAL_MIXER_setup_work-around_(UNTIL_FIXED_LATER).html

Maybe you could use the Hercules for timecode ;).

Been using the Hercules DJ console for almost three years, steadily and it has proven to be a great workhorse. No problems other than my own fault when it has crashed, bad file,or loading on too much information when a song is playing.I play professional gigs and although it may not look like much it does the job for the money. As any professional DJ knows quality lies in the ear of the beholder and when alcohol is involved it then becomes an opinion(except from the person who is signing your check). Always have backup ready in case of a crash and your doing fine. I mix it into a mackie small six channel fx and the sound is matched to a pair of mackies and a yorkville 10 in. bass all self powered. my new system is dac 2 controller with a numark 200 fx mixer with a gigaport soundcard . The numark does not even come close to the sound of the Mackie so now I have to add an eq .

Loved the format of the Mk2 (all in one with the scratch wheels), but the soundcard and mic pre-amp are way sub-par (coming from a pro recording background). Noisy.

I ended up using the non-soundcard version of the Hercules controller (DJ Mp3 or similar) for the dials and integration, and an Indgio Echo PCMCIA card as my main output card. I use my internal card as the headphone amp.

My backup is a full MOTU 828 mkII 22 channel firewire interface, but its nice not to have to drag it (and its 48 patch cords) along.

www.musiciansfriend.com is the best website to buy all your musical needs from hands down.
If you've seen those Guitar Center stores around too they are owned by MF or some sort of affiliate.

Musicians Friend has great financing options if you need them and always price match, what's more they will price match up to 30 days after you have bought an item!

Which actually happened to me with a turntable package I bought from them. Me and my roommate got into a scuffle and he stepped on one of my turntable covers and cracked it, it was easily fixed with some clear tape and after we had it out everything was cool.

But, I went online to look for a replacement cover and instead found my package for 180 less! 5 days later I had an extra 180 bucks in my bank account. I actually had to thank my roomie.

;)
