Topic: New DMC DAC2 Mapper In Plugins!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Ive posted a revised version of the default DAC2 mapper in the external tools section of plugins. It includes a few extra features too;

Instructions are posted here so you can have a read if you think it suits you, without even downloading it!!

WAITLIST:
Toggles between Elapsed and Remain time in the players, note that time is calulated out for real time display taking pitch into account. This means that if you pitch something up by 5% the time you see "IS" the time it should finish, not 5% sooner! The Progress Bar will also flash when the track has 30 seconds remaining, and faster when 10 seconds remain.

SHIFT:
Use this key with either FX, The Jog Wheel or The Match key.

FX:
Applies the first sound effect, if pressed with Shift, Will apply FX Number two! Press again to cancel those effects that don't cancel themselves.

LOOP/PREVIEW:
This performs a Video Transition to the other player. A quick tap will just switch video to the new player with no transition, similar to a crossfader "Slam". This is useful if you have run out of time on you previous song.
Pressed and held, LOOP/PREVIEW will perform a transition using your selected transition. The Transition will only be applied for as long as you hold the button, so you can also use a combo of transition and slam to create new transitions depending on exactly how long you hold the button down for. For a full transition you'll need to hold the button for about 4 seconds, Just long enough to take a sip from your drink =)

MATCH:
Applies the Beatlock for a moment, to match both BPM's, Beatlock is released when you release the key. To Lock Beatlock press Shift & Match together, to unlock, just repeat!

<<|:
Adjust Loop time shorter, Number of loops is shown on the left of the display.

GROUP:
Apply Preset Loop as shown in the display, a second press will exit the loop. When player is in loop play mode, "SINGLE" is shown in the display.

|>>:
Adjust Loop time longer, Number of loops is shown on the left of the display.

LOAD:
Loads the selected Track into the unused player, This can be used after "Shift+JOG".

JOGWHEEL:
Inner wheel performs a track nudge to set cue points while not playing, and a mild pitch bend while playing. Hold "Shift" and then use the wheel to browse the record library.
Outer wheel is used to Seek throughout the track, if used with "Shift" it will change directories in the browser.

CUE:
Stops the track, Or sets cue point one if jog has been used.

PLAY:
This button does nothing... Except play the track! =)

-:
Pitch Bends the track back while being pressed.

+:
Pitch Bends the track forward while being pressed.

I really appreciate the new mapper - but here is what I miss from the DMC-1/DAC-2 Mapper made by Daniels.

- Using the CUE button would move you through which ever cue point you have set. Now, I love the stutter start with you mapper, so if you could add a feature to use the SHIFT-CUE combo that would be nice.

- Another, I am sitting on a specific CUE point, say CUE 3; and I hit Play then CUE to return to the CUE point - your mapper always returns to CUE 1's position when it should return to the CUE you were last at.

- Using the SHIFT- and arrow keys to the left and right of the GROUP button, I was able to change between number 1 through 5 so that way when I set my CUE point it would get assigned that CUE #.
This would be nice to have in this version.

There are a couple of other things. I will post later.

Have you ever read the readme from Daniels mapper? If not, look at my blog, I posted it there. But basicly my over all opinion - IT'S AWESOME!~!

The main reason these features are missing from my mapper is because I'm not very brilliant with C++, the programming language that the plugin is written in. Also many of the features included in Daniels version were not included because we would then end up with two mappers that are the same! =)

The cue issue is because of the way the default mapper was written by Atomix, I too have had that problem with VDJ returning to CUE 1, but I will have to look into it and find out if it's the VDJ that chooses cue 1, or if the mapper is causing it.

At present I'm interstate and returning in about a week, I'll have a look into any chance of adding a selectable cue, but we may find that it would have to be re-selected everytime youv'e pressed play, becoming quite a pain in the.. um bum! will keep you up to date when I know more!
