apparently my laptop is not 2.0, after I hook up the MK2, my external USB Harddrive turns off because the MK2 sucks up all the power
I plan to buy the maya44, is there a device/hub or w/e that can fix this problem?
btw i have only 2 USB outlets, i think its 1.1

you can get an adaptor for one port for 2.0 devices to conect to a 1.0 port
but a pcmcia card would be better

Are you sure about this? If you use an adaptor the bus speed still working at the same speed than usb 1.0. The only way is a pcmcia usb 2.0 card.

Ok, but it works at the usb host port speed:
If the host port is 1.0 it works ar 1.5mbps
If it's 1.1 then works at 12 mbps
And if it's 2.0, works at 480 mbps
You are limited by the usb bus speed of your motherboard.
